Eligibility
The award is open to university students currently pursuing a PhD degree or a post-doc. Recent PhD graduates are also eligible, provided their graduation or defense of final research to obtain the title was not more than two years prior to the time of application. Eligible research projects should focus on understanding how climate change shapes extreme weather events and how to foster resilience against climate-related risks.
How to enter
- Prepare a non-technical essay (max. 800 words) outlining your research idea and central findings.
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from your academic mentor.
- Fill out and sign the declaration form.
- Complete the application form.
- Prepare your CV.
- Send all filled and signed forms, along with the essay, CV, and reference letter, to climaterisk-award@allianz.com.
Submission requirements
- Brief (max. 800 words) non-technical essay on the research project, highlighting central findings.
- Letter of recommendation from the candidate’s academic mentor.
- Filled and signed declaration form.
- Completed application form.
