The INGSA-Africa Science Advice Skills Development Program (SASDP) 2026 is an initiative designed to enhance the capabilities of early and mid-career researchers interested in science advice and policymaking. The program aims to enable participants to effectively engage at the intersection of science and policy. Participants will receive interactive training, mentorship, and practical exercises, providing them with hands-on experience in evidence-informed policymaking, communication strategies, and understanding the dynamics of advisory systems. The SASDP's thematic focus is on Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa. This includes sub-areas such as Health, water, energy, food security, biodiversity, natural resource management, indigenous knowledge, and digital and AI innovations, among others. Eligibility
Applicants must be early or mid-career African scientists or researchers actively working on the African continent. A PhD must have been obtained within the past 10 years. Applicants need to demonstrate a strong interest in science advice and policy engagement and possess a solid scientific track record in their area of expertise. Preference will be given to those whose work aligns with Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa, specifically in areas such as Health, water, energy, food security, biodiversity, natural resource management, indigenous knowledge, and digital and AI innovations.
