COMPSPHERE 12, also known as HACKSPHERE 2026, is an international-scale hackathon organized by President University's Faculty Association Computer Science. This year's theme, "Web3 Frontier," challenges participants to create decentralized solutions that utilize blockchain, advanced data security, and transparent architectures to address real-world industrial problems. The event aims to foster innovation and connect future ideas within the Web3 ecosystem. The competition is structured into two phases. Phase 1, called "The Filtering," is a fully conceptual online stage where teams submit a strategic Proposal Idea in PDF format. This initial phase serves as a qualifier, identifying the most promising concepts and teams. Only teams that download and use the official template will be eligible for judging, with strict adherence to the mandatory anatomy being a disqualification criterion. Following the conceptual phase, the top 30 teams will advance to Phase 2, "The Execution." This phase involves a high-intensity 24-hour coding marathon. Teams can participate either on-site at President University or virtually, accommodating international participants. During this phase, finalists are expected to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on their approved proposal and present their solutions to the judges. The hackathon offers a total of $1,247 in cash prizes across various categories, including a Grand Prize of $500. Participants must be between 15 and 25 years old and be students. Companies and professional organizations are explicitly excluded. The event supports the exploration of technologies like Blockchain, Machine Learning/AI, and Cybersecurity within the Web3 framework.
Participants are challenged to build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that addresses a specific industry problem using Web3 foundations, such as blockchain, smart contracts, or decentralized storage. Solutions can be web-based, mobile, or platform-integrated. Optional stacks like AI or IoT are encouraged as long as the core Web3 features are functional.
