The DFA Design Sprint is an online competition hosted by DFA Yale, an organization focused on student product and design. The sprint challenges participants to develop innovative solutions to a specific problem related to the Yale campus experience. This year's focus is on enhancing the laundry experience for Yale students. Participants are required to design a solution that addresses the prompt: "How could we make the laundry experience better for Yalies?" The competition is open to Yale undergraduate students aged 17 and older. It offers a structured timeframe for ideation, design, and presentation. Entrants will submit a visual representation of their idea, which can take various forms such as app mockups, websites, posters, or CAD designs. Additionally, a solo recorded video presentation, 4-7 minutes in length, is required to explain the design process, research, and the proposed solution. A separate Google Form submission is also necessary. Successful participants have the opportunity to win a DFA Studio Membership, granting them access to Yale's Student Product & Design Studio. There will be 15 winners for this non-cash prize, along with Devpost Achievements. The judging criteria include solution and design quality, process, research, strategic thinking, and the clarity of communication and application.
