H.A.R.D. Hack 2027 is UC San Diego's premier hardware-focused hackathon, gathering engineers, developers, and innovators to create technology for the future. Unlike traditional hackathons, this event places a strong emphasis on hardware innovation, providing teams with access to development boards, sensors, and various tools to bring their concepts to life. This year's theme, 'Zombie Apocalypse,' challenges participants to develop creative solutions for survival, defense, and reconstruction in a post-apocalyptic scenario. The hackathon aims to foster ingenuity and practical application of hardware skills to address complex, imaginative problems. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with mentors from leading tech companies, attend exclusive workshops, and receive valuable feedback from industry professionals. The event is designed to be beginner-friendly, ensuring that both seasoned hackers and first-timers receive ample support and guidance throughout the process.
Participants must build hardware-focused solutions aligned with the 'Zombie Apocalypse' theme. This involves developing innovations for survival, defense, or reconstruction within a post-apocalyptic setting, utilizing provided development boards, sensors, and other hardware tools.
Participants must be college students and above the legal age of majority in their country of residence. Teams are required, consisting of 2 to 4 members. The hackathon is open to participants from all countries/territories, excluding standard exceptions.
