Overview
Hack for Humanity Summer 2026 is a month-long hackathon designed to unite developers in creating innovative solutions for mental and physical health challenges. Participants are encouraged to leverage technology, with an optional focus on Artificial Intelligence, to make meaningful improvements in human well-being.
The challenge emphasizes the development of software solutions that address various health concerns. Participants can work individually or in teams of 2-4 members. The event welcomes individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced developers, promoting a collaborative environment where prior experience is not a prerequisite for participation.
The hackathon aims to foster creativity and problem-solving, encouraging participants to explore diverse applications of technology in healthcare. Key areas of focus include general mental and physical health, as well as specialized tracks for AI/ML and brain injury recovery, ensuring a broad scope for impactful projects.
What to build
Participants must build software (such as an app, website, or game) that improves mental or physical well-being. Projects can compete in core Mental Health and Physical Health categories, and optionally in dedicated tracks such as Best Use of AI/ML & Responsible AI, Best Tech for Brain Injury Recovery, Best Design, Best Innovation and Creativity, and the Public Voting Winner.
