Hack2Heal 2.0 is a global healthcare innovation hackathon organized by the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), open exclusively to students currently enrolled in a college or university anywhere in the world. The event invites interdisciplinary ideas spanning AI & Machine Learning, Biotechnology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Blockchain, Data Science, Digital Health, and Medical Technology, though participants may also submit ideas outside these categories as long as they address healthcare challenges innovatively. Round 1 is an asynchronous, online idea-submission round: participants (competing individually or in teams of eligible college/university students) submit a PDF presentation using the official Hack2Heal 2.0 template covering their problem statement, proposed solution, innovation/technology, target users and impact, implementation approach, and team details. A fully developed prototype is not required at this stage. Twenty teams will advance from Round 1 to a Final Round, with separate requirements to be communicated later to qualifiers. Submissions are judged on innovation and originality, problem relevance, impact potential, feasibility and scalability, technical and scientific approach, and clarity of presentation. Winners receive cash and access to research publication and internship opportunities at IEM's Institute of Fundamental Research.
An innovative healthcare solution or idea addressing a real-world healthcare challenge, spanning fields such as AI & Machine Learning, Biotechnology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Blockchain, Data Science, Digital Health, or Medical Technology (or other approaches, provided they tackle healthcare innovation). No working prototype is required for Round 1 — a well-developed PDF presentation of the idea is sufficient.
Open exclusively to students currently enrolled in a college or university anywhere in the world; must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence. School students, companies, and professional organizations are excluded. Participants may face requests for student ID verification. All countries/territories are welcome, subject to standard Devpost eligibility exceptions.
