HackIT 2026

Overview

HackIT 2026 is an annual hackathon organized by NP Overflow, challenging Polytechnic Students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic to apply their learned skills to create real-world solutions. The event runs from September 14 to October 21, 2026, offering students the opportunity to collaborate in teams and tackle industry-relevant problems. Participants are required to form teams of 2-5 members and select from one of three predefined problem statements provided by industry partners: AWS, NCS, and NCSS Community Chest. The hackathon aims to foster innovation and practical application of knowledge by having students develop solutions that address specific challenges outlined by these partners. Throughout the hackathon, teams will receive support in the form of consults with organizers and industry mentors, as well as access to workshops covering various topics. This guidance is designed to help participants develop their projects effectively and enhance their technical and problem-solving skills. Project submissions are due by October 21, 2026, and must include a project name, description, 3-5 screenshots of the solution, and a GitHub repository link. Submissions are to be made through the Devpost platform, and judging will be conducted by representatives from the respective sponsoring organizations, with non-cash prizes awarded to the best project in each category.

What to build

Participants must build a solution that addresses one of the three allocated problem statements from the challenge partners. Solutions can be any type of creation, as long as they directly tackle the chosen problem statement. Specific problem statements include: - AWS: Integrating Mother Tongue into the Daily Lives of Young Adults - NCS: Reducing Scam Harm through Shared Community Awareness - NCSS Community Chest: Personalising the Giving Journey Projects should not rely solely on a Gen-AI project link for accessibility (e.g., Gemini Canvas, Lovable).

How to enter

1. Form teams of 2-5 members.
