Overview
Hackonomics 2027 is the official Hackonomics™ 2027 Hackathon, designed to educate and grow insight into Computer Science and Economics. It provides an experience for individuals passionate about finance, economics, and computer science to fuse these principles through projects that have the potential for positive community impact.
The challenge encourages participants to create innovative projects, products, businesses, or ideas that help spread awareness about financial literacy and economics. This year's hackathon is open-ended and beginner-friendly, welcoming submissions across a wide range of economic or financial topics and in various mediums or stages of development.
Participants are encouraged to brainstorm project ideas, consider outreach approaches, and think about potential impact. Joining the official Discord server is also recommended for more details.
What to build
Create an innovative project, product, business, or idea that would help spread awareness about financial literacy and economics in the community. The hackathon is open-ended and beginner-friendly, allowing submissions covering a wide range of economic or financial topics and in all mediums and different stages of development.

Eligibility
Participants must be 13 years of age or older and currently students. Companies and professional organizations are excluded from participation. Specific countries/territories may also be excluded; participants should view the full rules for details.
How to enter
- Join the hackathon by registering on the Devpost page.
- Brainstorm project ideas, approaches to outreach, and potential impact.
- Join the Discord server for more details.
- Create your project based on the challenge requirements.
- Submit a YouTube video or Google Drive video (1-2 minutes recommended, 5 minutes maximum) describing your project.
- Submit a document of the source program (any medium). Designs, prototypes, and other submissions are permitted.

Judging criteria
- Relevancy: How well the project addresses the theme of economics and financial literacy and its fusion with code, including an element of educating others.
- Technical Execution: How well the project is built, demonstrating technical proficiency, scalability, efficiency, and sound implementation.
- Presentation: Visual appeal and user-friendliness, including intuitive design, clear and attractive user interface, thoughtful color schemes, and seamless user experience.
- Impact: The potential impact of the project, including meaningful applications, scalability, and long-term value in terms of user benefit, business, or societal impact.
- Innovation: The uniqueness or creativity of the approach to solving the problem, pushing boundaries or introducing novel ideas or technologies.
