Horizons Equinox is an immersive 3-day hackathon experience organized by Hack Club, designed for teen coders from around the globe. This event will bring together over 60 participants in Egypt during August 2026 for a unique coding adventure. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate, build new projects, and immerse themselves in Egyptian culture, including visits to the Giza pyramids and a Nile cruise. The hackathon aims to foster a creative environment for young developers to enhance their coding skills and connect with peers. All essential expenses for attendees, including meals, snacks, local transport, and event swag, will be covered. Additionally, flight stipends are available for participants who contribute extra coding hours. Hack Club, a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit, organizes this event with a mission to support teen coders worldwide, having previously run over 500 hackathons and events both online and in-person. Horizons Equinox builds on this legacy, offering a hands-on, educational, and culturally enriching experience in a unique international setting.
Participants will engage in a hackathon, which typically involves building projects over a short period. The specific theme or challenge for projects is not detailed, but the event emphasizes creating something new and coding with new friends.
