International Computer Science Competition (ICSC)

Overview

The International Computer Science Competition (ICSC) is a worldwide computer science contest designed for high school and university students. It aims to expand participants' understanding beyond typical curricula through a blend of conceptual, programming, and research-based challenges, fostering both education and competitive spirit. In a contemporary world deeply influenced by AI, the competition emphasizes the importance of understanding underlying technology, not only for future developers but also for individuals who can think critically, adapt to new advancements, and contribute to shaping technological evolution. Students advance through three progressively difficult rounds, vying for a total prize pool exceeding 1,500 USD. Prizes include international cash awards for first, second, and third place across all age categories, national honors, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze distinctions for finalists. All participants receive an official digital certificate, with problems available in multiple languages and no specialized equipment required, making it accessible globally.

Eligibility

Open to all middle school, high school, and university students worldwide. Participants are grouped into three age categories: Junior (Grade 10 or below, under 16), Youth (Grades 11-13, under 19), and Senior (First year of college/university or above, 19+).

How to enter

1. Enter the Qualification Round by completing five problems spanning conceptual and programming topics.
2. Submit solutions for the Qualification Round by July 05, 2026.
3. If qualified, participate in the supervised 60-minute online Pre-Final Round exam.
4. If qualified, participate in the digitally monitored Final Round exam on a single global exam day.

Judging criteria

• Performance in the Final Round determines final rankings and prizes.
