The International Family Discount (IFD) is an offer from Newcastle University providing a 10% reduction in tuition fees. This discount is extended to close relatives of students or graduates who have been assessed as International for tuition fee purposes. Eligible family members include spouses, siblings, parents, and children, who are either intending to study or are currently studying at Newcastle University's city campus. The discount is applied annually for the duration of the degree programme. It aims to support international families in pursuing their studies at the university. Students can apply for the discount once they are registered at the University or have received an offer of a place on their chosen degree programme and have been assessed as International for fee purposes. If multiple family members are studying concurrently, one member will be eligible to apply for the IFD.
This discount is only available to students studying at the Newcastle city campus. The University offers partial discounts to close relatives (husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter) of students and graduates, who have been assessed as International for fees purposes, and who wish to pursue their studies at Newcastle University in 2026-2027 or are currently studying there. Students may only apply for a discount if they are registered as a student at the University or after they have been offered a place to study on their chosen degree programme, and have been assessed as International for fees purposes. Where two family members are intending to start their studies in any academic year or are currently studying at the University, one member will be eligible to apply for the International Family Discount (IFD).
