Overview
The Oxford Saïd Global Climate Tech Challenge is an annual competition that encourages young innovators aged 15-18 to develop technology-driven solutions to pressing climate change issues. Participants are tasked with designing bold, scalable ideas that leverage technology to combat environmental challenges, operating under the theme "Big challenges, bold ideas." Teams must choose from five critical focus areas: air pollution, extreme weather events, food security, biodiversity, or water scarcity. Each proposal must feature a technological solution at its core, addressing one of these global problems. The competition aims to empower the next generation of climate leaders by providing a platform to showcase their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Finalists will have the unique opportunity to present their projects in Oxford, with all expenses covered. All participants who submit an approved entry will receive a certificate from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, recognizing their involvement and contribution to climate innovation.
What to build
Participants must develop a technology-driven solution to one of five climate themes: air pollution, extreme weather events, food security, biodiversity, or water scarcity. The solution should be presented in a 10-page PowerPoint (PDF format) and a 3-minute video.
