Overview
The Poly.Tech mini hackathon is an event exclusively for students of Baltimore Polytechnic. The hackathon is designed to encourage participation from all students, regardless of their coding experience, and focuses on creating any executable project using any coding language. Participants are required to submit their finished projects via Google Drive or as a direct download. The event provides a platform for students to demonstrate their coding skills and creativity within a limited timeframe. Support for team formation and coding assistance is available through a Discord channel. Projects will be evaluated based on several criteria, including creativity, the enthusiasm demonstrated by the team, the overall functionality of the project, the quality of the project showcase, and a 'wow factor' that assesses conceptual impressiveness and technical skill. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three places. The hackathon's deadline is September 17, 2026, at 11:45 PM EDT. It is hosted virtually with a base in Baltimore, MD, USA, and is open to high school students who are of legal age of majority in their country of residence.

Eligibility
High school students only. Above legal age of majority in country of residence. All countries/territories, excluding standard exceptions.
How to enter

- Submit your finished project via Google Drive/download.
Judging criteria
- Creativity: Demonstrates creative effort through well curated and themed custom art, concept, storytelling, and design.
- Enthusiasm: Demonstrates commitment to the project and shows genuine effort.
- Functionality: The project is fairly well tested, considering the time constraints. There can be a few bugs encountered during the showcase, but overall it functions.
- Showcase: The showcase is professional, enjoyable to watch, and confident. They demonstrate a well, put together, presentation that shows off the project well.
- Wow Factor: Conceptually is impressive, in practice is impressive, and technical skill required is impressive.
