Practice to Create [Feedback To All Projects!]

Overview

The Practice to Create event, organized by Jitjai Organization, is an ideathon focused on solving issues and receiving constructive feedback. Participants are tasked with developing a project that addresses a problem, which can range from sustainable development goals to daily inconveniences or ineffective existing solutions. This event emphasizes ideation over technical implementation, making it accessible to a wide range of participants without requiring extensive coding skills. Submissions can include prototypes made with tools like Figma or Canva, or slide presentations. While originality is encouraged, participants may improve upon existing solutions, provided they acknowledge them in their presentation. Projects can be for-profit or non-profit/open-source. Reusing a previously made project is permissible if it aligns with the rules, and projects created for this event can also be submitted to other hackathons. Generative AI is allowed, but participants must disclose its use. Misrepresenting AI usage can lead to disqualification. Projects can be developed individually or by teams of 2-4 members. The judging criteria include originality, presentation quality, visual design, and plausibility of the idea. The main reward for all participants is personalized, brutally honest feedback from an experienced innovator. Additionally, there are non-cash prizes for the top three projects in the form of certificates, and submitting a project may also earn Devpost achievements.

What to build

A solution to a problem. This can include issues related to sustainable development goals, daily inconveniences, hidden problems, or ineffective existing solutions. Improvements on existing ideas are permitted but must be mentioned in the presentation video. The project can be for-profit or non-profit/open-source.

How to enter

1. Register for this hackathon on Devpost.

Submission requirements

• A 3-5 minute video presenting your project. The video must clearly communicate the issue being solved, the proposed solution, and how it can/is implemented. Videos over 5 minutes will not be judged.
• Any sources or AI models used to create the project must be submitted.
• Anything used in your video should be sent. This includes, for example, a working prototype link, public view slide presentation, or GitHub repository.

Judging criteria

• Originality (25%): How original, different, and new the idea is.
• Presentation (25%): How well you communicate your project, including grammar, spelling, confidence, etc.
• Visuals (25%): The project design such as color palette, font, quality of UI/UX (if applicable), etc.
• Plausibility (25%): How plausible the idea is.
