By ICUBE, University of Toronto Mississauga
Sauga Pitch is a live, in-person pitch competition presented jointly by ICUBE (the on-campus incubator at the University of Toronto Mississauga) and SpinUp at UTM, together with Sheridan College's EDGE Entrepreneurship Hub and IDEA Mississauga. It is described as Mississauga's flagship startup pitch competition and runs annually. The competition exists to provide support and resources to entrepreneurs based in the Peel region, using cash prizes to incentivize individuals and teams to advance their business ideas. Participants pitch their venture in person to a panel of judges (past editions have featured investors, bankers, and entrepreneurship program directors) for a shot at a share of the $15,000 total prize pool. Eligibility is broad by design: applicants qualify if they are a current student or alumni of the University of Toronto or Sheridan College, a participant in EDGE, ICUBE, SpinUp, or IDEA Mississauga programs, or simply a resident of the Peel Region. Past winners of Sauga Pitch are not permitted to compete again.
