The University of Bristol offers an alumni discount providing a 25% reduction on tuition fees for eligible postgraduate programs. This discount is applicable to students commencing their studies in the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The primary goal of this initiative is to support former students in furthering their education at the institution. To qualify for this discount, applicants must have previously graduated from the University of Bristol with a qualifying degree at a lower level of study than the postgraduate program they intend to pursue. Eligible postgraduate programs include specific postgraduate taught degrees such as LLM, MA, MRes, MSc, and postgraduate research degrees like DDS, D Ed Psy, MD, MLitt, MMus, MPhil, MSc by Research, and PhD. Crucially, applicants must not have previously graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree at the same or higher level as their intended new program. They must also be responsible for paying their fees directly to the University, indicating at least partial self-funding, and be enrolling in a program where fees are not charged on a modular basis. The discount is applied automatically to eligible students and does not require a separate application. It will appear on the financial statement after registration and applies to the self-funded portion of the tuition fees. If the discount is not applied automatically due to specific circumstances, such as multiple student numbers or fees paid via a student loan organization, students are advised to contact the education administration office for manual application.
To be eligible for the alumni discount, you must: * be starting one of the following eligible postgraduate programmes at the University of Bristol: postgraduate taught (LLM, MA, MRes, MSc) or postgraduate research (DDS, D Ed Psy, MD, MLitt, MMus, MPhil, MSc by Research, PhD) * have previously graduated from the University of Bristol with an eligible qualifying degree at a lower level of study. For this discount, an undergraduate degree or integrated master’s degree (BA, BSc, BEng, BDS, BVSc, MBChB, LLB, MArts, MSci, MEng, MLibArts) is considered a lower level than any postgraduate taught or research degree. A postgraduate taught degree (LLM, MA, MRes, MSc) is considered a lower level than a postgraduate research degree. * have not previously graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree at the same or higher level of study to the programme you are starting * pay fees directly to the University and be at least partly self-funded * be applying for a programme where fees are not charged on a modular basis.
