The Manchester Alumni Loyalty Discount is a financial incentive for individuals pursuing postgraduate taught programs at The University of Manchester. This discount offers a 10% reduction on tuition fees for eligible students. The program is designed to encourage graduates and current final-year undergraduate students from The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University to continue their studies at The University of Manchester. To qualify for this discount, applicants must be registered on an eligible postgraduate taught program, including PGCert, PGDip, and online/distance learning courses, commencing between September 2026 and August 2027. Eligibility extends to those who completed an undergraduate degree at The University of Manchester or its predecessor institutions (The Victoria University of Manchester or UMIST), or an undergraduate degree licensed or validated by The University of Manchester. Additionally, graduates and final-year undergraduates of Manchester Metropolitan University with an eligible undergraduate degree are also included. The discount is applied directly to the tuition fees, reducing the amount payable to the University, rather than being disbursed as cash. It can be combined with other forms of funding, such as postgraduate loans, the Manchester Master’s Bursary, other University of Manchester bursaries/scholarships, or external funding from bodies like governments or charities. In such cases, the Alumni Loyalty Discount is applied first, before any other discounts, bursaries, or scholarships. Certain programs are excluded from this discount, including PGCE, MSc Adult Nursing, research master's degrees (e.g., MPhil, MRes), programs jointly awarded with other institutions (like Architecture programs with Manchester Met), integrated undergraduate master's degrees (e.g., MChem, MEng), and programs for intercalating medicine students. Applicants deferring entry will have their eligibility reassessed for the new entry year, subject to the discount's availability.
