YouCam API Skin AI & Apparel VTO Hackathon

Overview

The YouCam API Skin AI & Apparel VTO Hackathon invites builders, developers, and visionaries to design solutions that redefine consumer experiences in skincare and fashion retail. Participants will use YouCam's advanced AI/AR infrastructure, including Skin AI and generative Apparel Virtual Try-On APIs, to create real products and agentic AI workflows. The goal is to push innovation by developing solutions such as self-learning styling AI agents, personalized skin diagnostic tools, or tools that address real user problems. The challenge emphasizes creating projects with clear consumer or retail value, integrating at least one YouCam API. Participants can choose to focus on Skin AI, Apparel Virtual Try-On, or a combined approach utilizing both. The hackathon encourages fresh, unexpected uses of the technology, aiming for solutions that solve genuine problems in beauty, skin, fashion, or luxury sectors, delivering an intuitive experience for first-time users. This is an opportunity to access the same models powering over 800 global beauty and fashion brands, available via a standard REST API. Registered participants receive 1,000 free API units (a $179 value) to facilitate their development. Beyond cash prizes, standout teams will gain visibility through features on the Perfect Corp. blog.

What to build

Participants must integrate at least one YouCam API (Skin AI, Apparel VTO, or any other in the suite) into a working web or mobile prototype. The solution should demonstrate clear consumer or retail value, focusing on fresh and unexpected uses of the technology rather than surface-level wrappers. Projects should solve a real problem in beauty, skin, fashion, or luxury, providing an intuitive experience for a first-time user. Submissions can be new projects or major updates to existing ones.

Eligibility

Participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence. Specific countries/territories are excluded: Afghanistan, Antarctica, Belarus, Brazil, China, Crimea, Cuba, Djibouti, Donetsk People’s Republic, Iran Islamic Republic of, Iraq, Italy, Korea Democratic People's Republic of, Luhansk People’s Republic, Quebec, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Ukraine, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Western Sahara.

How to enter

1. Register on Devpost to receive your exclusive redeem code by email.
2. Sign up for YouCam API and verify your email.
3. Claim your 1,000 free YouCam API units by going to Account > Redeem Code and entering the provided code.

Submission requirements

• Provide a URL to your code repository for judging and testing. The repository must contain all necessary source code, assets, and instructions for the project to be functional. It must be either public (with relevant licensing) or private and shared with contact_event@PerfectCorp.com.
• Include a text description explaining the features, functionality, and demonstrating clear consumer or retail value of your project.
• Must include screenshots of the project.
• Include a 1-3-minute Demo video showing the experience end-to-end. The video should explain the YouCam API used, include footage of the project functioning on its intended device, be uploaded to and publicly visible on YouTube (highly preferred), Vimeo, or Youku, and a link provided on the submission form. The video must not include third-party trademarks or copyrighted material unless permission has been obtained.
• Must participate in an exit interview if chosen as a winner.
• Must agree to be included in a blog article.

Judging criteria

• Technological Implementation: How thoroughly and skillfully the project integrates at least one YouCam API from the Skin/Fashion category, demonstrating clear consumer or retail value, and reflecting genuine effort and a working, non-trivial implementation.
• Design: Whether the project delivers a complete, coherent product experience rather than just a technical proof of concept.
• Potential Impact: The credibility and specificity of the case made for solving a real problem for a real audience, and how effectively the solution addresses that problem as demonstrated.
• Quality of the Idea: The creativity and non-obviousness of the use of at least one Perfect Corp. YouCam API from the Skin or Fashion category, and the team's genuine understanding of the problem space.
