YouCam API Skin AI & eCommerce VTO Hackathon

Overview

The YouCam API Skin AI & eCommerce VTO Hackathon challenges participants to innovate in the skincare, beauty, fashion, and eCommerce sectors. By utilizing Perfect Corp's advanced AI and AR infrastructure, including the YouCam API, entrants are tasked with creating scalable products and cutting-edge Agentic AI workflows. The goal is to reimagine shopping experiences and solve consumer pain points through technology. Participants are encouraged to develop solutions such as self-learning styling assistants, hyper-personalized skin analysis tools, or entirely new approaches to existing consumer problems. The hackathon provides access to the same AI Skin Analysis and generative Apparel Virtual Try-On models that power over 800 global beauty and fashion brands, delivered via a standard REST API. Registered participants receive 1,000 free API units to facilitate development. The competition offers a total of $6,000 in cash prizes, along with API credits and opportunities for visibility, including blog features and product/developer marketing meetings for top winners. Special awards are also available for Women in Tech and students. The deadline for submissions is November 2, 2026. All submitted solutions must integrate at least one YouCam API into a functional web or mobile prototype that demonstrates clear consumer value. The focus is on fresh, unexpected solutions to real-world problems, rather than superficial applications. Projects can also explore the integration of Virtual Try-On experiences.

What to build

A functional web or mobile prototype that integrates at least one YouCam API. The solution should deliver clear consumer or retail value and address real-world pain points in beauty, fashion, or eCommerce. Projects can include cutting-edge Agentic AI workflows. Two specific topics are suggested: * Skin AI: Build a tool that helps users understand their skin and determine next steps, possibly combined with other YouCam APIs. * eCommerce VTO: Create a seamless, intuitive experience that integrates Virtual Try-On capabilities for beauty and fashion.

How to enter

1. Register on Devpost.
2. Get your exclusive redeem code by email.
3. Sign up for YouCam API and verify your email.
4. Claim your free 1,000 YouCam API Units by entering the redeem code in your YouCam API account (Account > Redeem Code).

Submission requirements

• All solutions must integrate at least one YouCam API into a functional web or mobile prototype.
• The prototype must deliver clear consumer or retail value and be intuitive enough for a first-time user.
• The project should be a fresh, unexpected solution to real-world pain points in beauty, fashion, or eCommerce, not a surface-level wrapper.
• Provide a URL to your code repository for judging and testing. The repository must be public (with relevant licensing) or private and shared with contact_event@PerfectCorp.com, and contain all necessary source code, assets, and instructions for functionality.
• Include a text description explaining features, functionality, and consumer/retail value, along with screenshots.
• Include a 1-3-minute demo video uploaded to and made publicly visible on YouTube (highly preferred), Vimeo, or Youku. The video should show the experience end-to-end, explain the YouCam API used, and include footage of the project functioning on the intended device. It must not include third-party trademarks or copyrighted material without permission.
• Winners must participate in an exit interview.
• Winners must agree to be included in a blog article.

Judging criteria

• Technological Implementation: How thoroughly and skillfully does the project integrate at least one YouCam API? Does it demonstrate clear consumer or retail value? Does the code reflect genuine effort and a working, non-trivial implementation?
• Design: Does the project deliver a complete, coherent product experience, beyond just a technical proof of concept?
• Potential Impact: Does the project make a credible, specific case for solving a real problem for a real audience, and does the solution actually address that problem?
• Quality of Idea: Is this a creative, non-obvious use of at least one YouCam API? Does the team demonstrate genuine understanding of the problem space they are working in?
