
This advanced diploma focuses on applied, industry-relevant skills for the evolving energy sector. You will gain foundational knowledge in electrical engineering, alongside specialized understanding of electrical machines, transformers, switchgear, power system protection, power quality, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and generation, smart grids, distributed generation, and energy management. The program aims to equip graduates with the skills to adapt to new technologies and contribute to the competitiveness of electrical engineering and related industries, particularly in the renewable energy sector.
The program includes 17 modules and 2 units of competency designed to provide comprehensive practical coverage in electrical engineering and renewable energy. Key areas include electrical technology fundamentals, distribution equipment and protection, energy efficiency, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, power protection, and distributed generation.
Graduates are prepared to contribute to the electrical engineering and renewable energy sectors, applying the latest technologies and developing innovative solutions. The program aims to improve career prospects and income.
Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition to academic and English requirements, applicants must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, 4 years of relevant work experience may be accepted with an application for Credit to Entry. Satisfactory completion of another EIT or tertiary institution course in English is also acceptable.
