Addiction Recovery (M.Sc./P.Grad.Dip)

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Postgraduate Diploma (P.Grad.Dip.) in Addiction Recovery is the first program of its kind in Ireland, offering a unique interdisciplinary approach. It integrates expertise from the School of Medicine, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and leading addiction practitioners. The curriculum is grounded in pioneering research, ensuring the content reflects current, evidence-based practices in addiction recovery. The program aims to equip health and social care professionals with a strong theoretical understanding and practical skills in the addiction recovery model, critically examining factors that affect its implementation across various settings. It fosters multidisciplinary learning, drawing on the diverse backgrounds of its students to enhance the learning experience.

Curriculum

The course comprises 90 ECTS credits and includes twelve taught modules and a dissertation. The full-time program runs over one year with attendance in 12 three-day blocks (Tuesday to Thursday) from September to May. The part-time option spans two years with six three-day blocks from September to May, concluding with a dissertation in the second year. Each teaching day involves six hours of lectures, workshops, or tutorials.
