You will gain practical mechanical skills alongside advanced design engineering expertise. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, preparing you for a career in the evolving automotive industry. You will have access to specialized automotive labs, including facilities for High Voltage Energy Storage and a driving simulator, to explore the design and functionality of electric vehicles.
Curriculum
The program structure offers both BEng (3 years full-time or 4 years with placement) and MEng (4 years full-time or 5 years with placement) qualifications. Students can transfer between courses up to their third year. Teaching involves lectures, seminars, practical laboratory work, and computer-based learning, with approximately 12 hours of contact time per week. The estimated annual workload is 1,200 hours.
