This BA (Hons) Advertising and Public Relations degree offers a unique blend of UK and US educational approaches, allowing for a well-rounded learning experience focused on critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Students will explore diverse perspectives and gain a broad understanding of the world, preparing them for various career paths. The program structure, based on the US liberal arts model, typically takes four years but can be accelerated to three years for students with advanced qualifications, such as A Levels, which can be counted as credits for the first year. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, including media production, and offers opportunities to specialize in areas of interest within communication, marketing, media, and design.
The programme structure allows for entry into Year 2 based on previous qualifications, or Year 1. Some students may enter Year 2 with the potential to complete the degree in three years by attending summer sessions. The curriculum combines core liberal arts foundational courses with specialized modules in Advertising and Public Relations.
Students can enter Year 2 based on their entry qualifications, or Year 1. An option exists for entry to Year 2 for students missing up to 24 US transfer credits, with the potential to complete the degree in three years by undertaking summer study.
