
This BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies course blends film history and critical analysis with practical, industry-focused skills. You will explore global cinema, from European Arthouse to American Independent and Experimental films, and engage with debates on screen technology, including VR and AI. The curriculum emphasizes inclusivity, identity, sustainability, and social justice. You will gain expertise in curating and programming film events, develop strong writing skills for film journalism and theory, and learn to create engaging social media campaigns. The course is designed to equip you with transferable skills in project management, content creation, marketing, and public relations, preparing you for various roles within the film and screen industries.
The course is credit-rated and spans 3 years (Levels 4-6), requiring 120 credits per year for a total of 360 credits. UAL has embedded responsible practices, social and racial justice, and environmental sustainability into the curriculum.
