Overview
The Bachelor of Arts (4-year) with a History Major at Athabasca University is designed to enhance critical and creative thinking through a broad range of social, political, and cultural studies. A minimum of 30 credits must be from Athabasca University. Additional History Major requirements include: 45 credits in designated History courses (30 senior-level), 6 junior-level credits in Canadian history (HIST 224, HIST 225), 6 junior-level credits in European or world history, 6 senior-level credits in European history, 6 senior-level credits in North American history, and 6 senior-level credits in the history of areas other than North America or Europe. Electives comprise 15 credits, which can include various Anthropology, Global Studies, Labour Studies, and History courses.
