
The Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) Honours program focuses on understanding and manipulating how materials and chemicals interact and transform. The first year of the program includes core engineering units common to all engineering honours degrees, allowing students to explore different disciplines and potentially switch courses without penalty. In the subsequent years, students delve into specialized chemical engineering topics such as process design, operations, and control, preparing them for professional practice.
The program provides a solid grounding in mechanics, mathematics, and engineering design principles in the first two years. Core engineering science areas such as chemistry, materials science, fluid mechanics, process systems, and thermodynamics are also covered. The final two years focus on advanced chemical engineering topics, including process design, operations, and control.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) Honours program are prepared for a wide range of roles in industries that involve chemical processes and transformations. For international students, secondary school results are also considered. Applications via ECU's Experience Based Entry Scheme are not accepted for this course.
