
This program has been suspended from May 2026 with no further intakes planned. It is being replaced by the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology from January 2027. The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science delves into the science of human movement, exploring how the body responds to exercise and nutrition. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, and sports psychology. The program emphasizes practical application through athlete testing, performance analysis, and exercise prescription for various populations, including elite athletes. Learning takes place at the Bond Institute of Health & Sport, offering opportunities to work with elite athletes and professional teams. A significant component includes a minimum of 140 hours of work placements in sport, exercise, fitness, and healthcare settings, providing valuable pre-career experience. The degree is designed as a fast-track pathway, completable in two years, to postgraduate studies in physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
The curriculum covers foundational and specialized areas in exercise and sports science across six semesters. Bond University's three-semester-per-year system allows for completion in two years. The program includes core university subjects focused on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, leadership, responsibility, integrity, and civic discourse.
Graduates are prepared for careers in exercise science, sports science, and strength and conditioning. The program also serves as an accelerated pathway to postgraduate studies in allied health fields.
