This accredited double degree prepares you for a career as a registered veterinarian in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. Developed with industry input, the program focuses on the needs of rural and regional communities, equipping graduates with skills to work with farm livestock, horses, companion animals, and wildlife. You will gain practical experience with live animals from your first week, developing diagnostic and management skills across various species, alongside essential life and business skills for rural and regional practice. The course emphasizes a holistic learning experience, integrating agricultural production systems, nutrition, genetics, economics, and epidemiology.
Curriculum
The course comprises 384 credit points. For each 8-point subject, expect to dedicate 10-12 hours per week to assignments, readings, tutorials, research, forum activities, workplace learning, and lectures/intensive schools/examinations. Studying four subjects per session is equivalent to a full-time job. Some subjects may require attendance at an online or on-campus intensive school for deeper understanding through lectures, tutorials, and practicals.
