National Park College (NPC) and Southern Arkansas University (SAU) have partnered to offer bachelor's degree programs directly in Hot Springs. This collaboration allows students to begin and complete their bachelor's degrees without needing to relocate. The programs are housed at the National Park University Center, providing a convenient pathway for students to advance their education.
Students can pursue degrees in Biology (Pre-Health Option), Chemistry (Pre-Health Professional-Biochemistry Option), and Computer Science (General). The first two years of coursework are completed at NPC, with freshman and sophomore level courses taught by NPC instructors. Junior and senior level coursework is taught by both NPC and SAU faculty.
The Biology and Chemistry degrees, particularly the Pre-Health options, prepare students for entry into medical school, pharmacy school, or graduate programs. Upon graduation, these degrees also open doors to high-demand, lucrative science-related careers. Specific career roles and graduate schemes are not detailed.
Upon completion of NPC coursework, students must apply and be accepted to SAU for admission to the junior and senior level courses.
Financial aid is processed through NPC for the first two years and through SAU thereafter.
