The Baltic Linguistics program is a unique Master's degree focused on training specialists in the field of Baltic languages. It covers synchronic and diachronic aspects of Lithuanian, Latvian, and Prussian languages, exploring their development within the context of other Indo-European languages. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary research methods and provides skills to analyze, evaluate, and solve theoretical and practical problems related to language and society, culture, and identity. Students will learn to critically assess current research and apply modern technologies to the study of Baltic languages.

How to apply
1. Find Your ProgrammeResearch and select your desired study program. You can apply to up to three programs, but will only be admitted to one.
2. Check Application DatesFor international applicants: May 1 for non-EU/EFTA countries, July 1 for EU/EFTA countries and visa-exempt non-EU/EFTA applicants. The intake is in September.
3. Check Eligibility and Prepare DocumentsEnsure you meet the general, program-specific, and language requirements. For non-EU/EFTA applicants, the time since your last qualification should not exceed five years. Prepare necessary documents, including verified copies of your entry qualification. Documents must be in English or Lithuanian, or officially translated.
4. Pay Application Fee and Submit ApplicationSubmit your application via apply.vu.lt. The application fee is 100 EUR, payable through Flywire. Applications are processed only after the fee is collected and all required documents are submitted before the deadline. The fee is non-refundable.
5. Take the InterviewIf your qualifications meet the requirements, you will be invited for a motivational interview.
6. Confirm Acceptance and Pay Tuition FeeApplications are assessed within 30 days. Acceptance or rejection notifications are sent via the online system. You must confirm your acceptance within 7 working days. EU/EEA citizens and other foreign students admitted to non-state-funded places must pay the annual tuition fee within 15 calendar days of the offer to study.
7. Arrange Your ArrivalAfter tuition payment, you receive the final acceptance letter. The International Relations Office will assist with information regarding temporary residence permits and send a mediation letter for non-EU citizens.
