Entry requirements
A levelsBCC, including Maths at grade C minimum.
T levelsMerit or higher in Science, Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing, Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing, or Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control.
BTEC Extended DiplomaDMM. Must be an Engineering subject and include Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians (Unit 28) at minimum Merit (for BTEC Level 3, 2010-2016), or 'Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems' (Unit 7) and 'Further Engineering Mathematics' (Unit 8) at minimum Merit (for BTEC Nationals Level 3, from 2016).
Access Programmes104 UCAS tariff points from an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Engineering or Science and Engineering, including a minimum of 12 credits in Maths at minimum Merit.
International Baccalaureate104 UCAS tariff points, including HL Maths at grade 5. English A at HL5 or SL5 (with sub-skills not less than 4), or English B at HL5 (with sub-skills not less than 5) or SL7 (with sub-skills not less than 6). Minimum GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or 4 (equivalents accepted).

Flexibility with published entry requirements may be possible for applications through Clearing. For international applicants, English language requirements can be met through a pre-sessional English course if needed. Advanced entry to the second or third year is considered on a case-by-case basis for students transferring from other universities.
