This BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to become a confident and competent nursing professional. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The first year focuses on fundamental nursing principles, shared with other nursing disciplines, and includes simulated learning and clinical placements. In the second and third years, you will specialise in adult nursing, continuing with simulated practice and real-world placements to build your expertise. The course emphasizes compassionate, person-centred care, interprofessional collaboration, and the development of professional judgment and leadership skills. You will learn in state-of-the-art facilities, including virtual reality technology, with a curriculum aligned to NMC standards.
Curriculum
The curriculum is designed to be work-ready, incorporating new teaching and learning approaches. You will undertake 2300 hours of theoretical learning and 2300 hours of practice, including 600 hours of simulated practice. Learning methods include simulated practice, lectures, seminars, group work, and problem-based learning. Independent study is crucial, with directed and self-directed learning components for each module. Clinical placements involve working shifts and are assessed for competency. Academic support is provided through a personal academic tutor and university support services.

Careers
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply for registration as an adult nurse with the NMC.
