This Master of Arts (MA) program is designed for graduates who aim to launch or advance their careers in marketing. It delves into the core principles, theoretical frameworks, and practical applications of marketing within the broader context of business and management. The curriculum equips students with both academic knowledge and applied skills in areas such as advertising, global brand management, customer loyalty, public relations, and market research. Beyond marketing, the program also enhances understanding of broader business and management topics, including organizational structures, leadership, and adapting to changing external environments, fostering a strategic perspective on business challenges. The program emphasizes analytical training in the latest strategic and managerial developments in marketing, applicable to both public and private sectors, and covers marketing at local, national, and global scales. It aims to develop skills in strategic analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making, preparing graduates for diverse roles in marketing or general business management. Students have the option to complete a dissertation on a relevant business or marketing topic and can gain practical experience through competitions like The Pitch and the IBM Business Challenge.
The program structure accommodates both January and September intakes. Taught modules cover 120 credits, with the dissertation (or equivalent) accounting for 60 credits. For the January intake, taught modules are delivered from January to June and September to January, with the dissertation completed between June and September. For the September intake, taught modules run from September to June, followed by the dissertation from June to September.
This program prepares students for careers in marketing or broader business and management roles. Graduates are equipped with analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills.
Applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of English proficiency. Pre-sessional English courses are available for those who do not meet the minimum requirements.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Graduates receive a Bangor University Masters and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. Eligible for exemptions from some Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional qualifications.
