Center for Restorative Justice

West Virginia Wesleyan College offers a program focused on Restorative Justice (RJ). This approach to addressing harm involves specific convictions and practices, asking critical questions about community needs, obligations, accountability, and repair. RJ fosters an ethos of trust, friendship, equity, vulnerability, joy, and the flourishing of all within a community. The Center for Restorative Justice at WVWC is dedicated to the work of healing hearts, minds, bodies, and communities through these principles. Their mission is to learn and teach restorative justice practices, aiming to transform individuals, the campus, and partner communities toward reconciliation and mutual responsibility. The program is designed to be effective in various settings experiencing brokenness, including schools, families, and communities affected by addiction, poverty, or historical harm, promoting a hopeful future through purposeful work.
