Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade

Start your career as a mechanical tradesperson with the Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (MEM30219) apprenticeship course. This qualification equips you with skills applicable to a wide range of mechanical trade work, including fitting, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery. You will also learn to use various machine tools. The curriculum covers essential areas such as mechanical and thermal cutting, marking out, tool making, and mechatronics. It also includes training in using computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, computer-aided design (CAD), and workplace safety practices. This course is offered with two specialist streams: Fitting, and Fitting/Machining.

Curriculum

To be awarded the MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, you must successfully complete units of competency totalling 96 points. This includes all core units (33 points), a minimum of 40 points from elective units in Groups A, B, and C, and up to 23 points from Group D electives.
