Criminology

This Criminology BSc (Hons) program goes beyond media portrayals of crime to explore the underlying social justice issues. You will examine why certain groups are disproportionately represented in the justice system and develop skills to contribute to a more equitable society. The course draws on perspectives from sociology, law, and psychology to analyze structural inequalities that contribute to crime. Through engaging activities like podcast creation, debates, and research presentations, you will build professional skills and a strong portfolio. The program also offers opportunities to connect with industry professionals through guest speakers and gain practical experience through placements with organizations such as the Thames Valley Police or NGOs focused on youth development or environmental justice.

Curriculum
