Critical Care Research

This research group focuses on improving the care provided to vulnerable patients in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Annually, around 70,000 patients in the Netherlands require intensive care, often involving mechanical ventilation. While life-saving, prolonged ventilation can pose risks. The Critical Care research group is dedicated to exploring effective nursing interventions to optimize patient care, implement evidence-based practices, and discontinue less effective methods.
