
The Data Science for the Life Sciences minor program is designed for students in life sciences who want to enhance their digital skills for research and professional practice. This program focuses on acquiring and developing the digital tools essential for handling large datasets and solving modern biomedical problems. You will gain experience with bioinformatics, genome sequencing, data processing, analysis, visualization, database technology, and basic programming. Through practical projects, you will learn to apply these tools, for example, by analyzing patient DNA to identify genetic variations linked to diseases or using the R programming language to conduct digital experiments and analyze gene expression data. Upon completion, you will possess foundational skills for independent data processing. This program is taught in English and offers a semester of theoretical knowledge and project work. It provides a solid understanding of diagnostic genome analysis and transcriptomics, equipping you with a bioinformatics toolbox for effective data management in biomedical sciences within an international learning environment.

Exchange students are not required to submit formal proof of English proficiency, but partner universities are asked to nominate students with a minimum B2 level of English.
