The Master's program in Data Science at EPFL is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of how to extract insights from vast, complex, and often diverse datasets. As mobile devices, sensors, web logs, and transactions generate an ever-increasing volume of data, this program places students at the forefront of this data revolution. All applicants must demonstrate strong skills in mathematics (calculus, discrete mathematics, linear algebra, probability), a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and databases. Knowledge of operating systems, computer architecture, and computation theory is also essential. Upon successful completion, students obtain an EPFL Master of Science MSc in Data Science. The diploma also confers the right to use the title of EPF qualified Engineer.
