The Earth and Environmental Sciences Programme (EESC) is designed for students passionate about understanding the intricate connections between the solid Earth, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. You will explore pressing environmental issues like climate change, natural disasters, and pollution through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates physics, chemistry, biology, statistics, computation, and machine learning. The program aims to equip you with a strong scientific foundation and advanced technical skills to analyze and address critical global environmental challenges. The curriculum is flexible, allowing you to specialize in Atmospheric Science, Geology and Geophysics, or Environmental Science and Technology. Core courses provide a robust scientific background, complemented by practical field and laboratory work. A significant emphasis is placed on developing quantitative and analytical skills, including numerical modeling, programming, statistics, and data analysis. Experiential learning opportunities include overseas exchanges, internships with government agencies and industry partners, and undergraduate research projects, fostering close collaboration with faculty in a supportive, small-class environment.

LivingOn-Campus Accommodation: approx. HK$17,000 per year. Living Expenses: approx. HK$45,000 per year. Total estimated living costs: HK$62,000 per year.
A caution fee of HK$450 is payable upon enrolment, refundable upon withdrawal (usually used as a graduation fee).
