This undergraduate program offers a comprehensive study of both electronic engineering and computer programming fundamentals across the first three years. In your final year, you will specialize in one of four areas: Systems and Devices, High-Speed Networks, Digital Interaction, or the Internet of Things. A significant component of the program is a six-month paid work placement (INTRA) in the third year, providing practical experience with companies in Ireland or internationally. Graduates will be equipped with skills to develop innovative solutions using cutting-edge technologies like augmented and virtual reality, and will be prepared for a growing global demand in fields such as design engineering, production engineering, and software engineering.
Graduates are highly sought after by employers globally and are eligible to practice as professional engineers in many countries through agreements with Engineers Ireland and signatory countries to the Washington Accord. DCU Career Services offers various support initiatives to equip students with essential career skills.
General entry requirements for university admission also apply.
Tuition fees and living cost estimates are available on the DCU Fees section of the university website.
