Electronic Engineering BEng (Final Year Direct Entry)

This one-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) program is designed for students who have completed a Foundation Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent and wish to gain direct entry into the final year of study. The course focuses on providing practical and applied experience in electronics, enabling students to tackle real-world industry challenges. The curriculum is informed by the university's strong research in biomedical electronics and electric vehicles, offering a practical application of electronic principles. You will benefit from access to specialist facilities including CAD design suites, media technology labs, automotive labs, and electronics labs. The program also emphasizes support through Academic Advisors and Student Support Coordinators. Upon successful completion, graduates will achieve accreditation as an Incorporated Engineer.

Curriculum

The final year of the BEng Electronic Engineering program focuses on advanced digital and analog electronics, alongside significant individual and group design projects. Teaching is delivered face-to-face with approximately 10 hours of contact time per week, supplemented by around 20 hours of independent study. The total workload is estimated at 1,200 hours per year.
