The English Philology programme at Vilnius University provides students with advanced written and spoken English communication skills, aiming for C1-C2 level proficiency. It offers a strong foundation in English linguistics, literature, and the cultures of English-speaking countries. The curriculum focuses on improving language proficiency through courses in academic writing, content and creative writing, public speaking, and research communication. Students will also develop translation skills for cross-cultural contexts and cultivate essential soft skills like critical thinking and problem-solving. This program prepares students for diverse academic and creative pathways, and can be combined with minor study programs in areas like German Philology, Spanish Language and Literature, or Scandinavian Studies.
Exemption from English language tests is possible if English is your first language or if you hold a university degree obtained in English. Applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan must submit an OMPT-C certificate with a minimum passing grade of 55%.
