How to apply
1. Apply to SJR StateComplete the online application and select Law Enforcement Officer as your primary program of study. Do not select a secondary program.
2. Submit Official High School TranscriptsRequest official high school or GED transcripts be sent directly to the Records Office, or submit sealed transcripts with your Law Enforcement Academy Application to the Criminal Justice Department.
3. Upload Florida Residency Declaration Form and Tier DocumentsUpload the Florida Residency Declaration Form and clear copies of two tier documents for verification. Contact Admissions if you have questions about Florida residency.
4. Complete Canvas New Student OrientationFinish the online orientation to fulfill SJR State application requirements.
5. Pass the Law Enforcement Officer Basic Abilities Test (BAT)Take and pass the BAT. Scores are valid for four years. Note: Veterans (honorably discharged) and individuals with an associate degree or higher are exempt from this test. Provide DD214 or sealed college transcripts for exemption.
6. Complete Physician’s AssessmentFill out the Physician’s Assessment, CJSTC-75 form. Proof of mandatory medical insurance is required.
7. Submit Application PacketDeliver the completed Florida Law Enforcement Academy Application Packet to the Criminal Justice Training Center (Building J) on the St. Augustine campus. Ensure all items are included.
8. Pay for Fingerprinting and Basic Motor Skills TestPay for fingerprinting ($60) and the scheduled Basic Motor Skills Test ($30) when submitting your application packet. Provide proof of payment.
