Foreign Languages

The Department of Foreign Languages, established on September 1, 2001, is a long-standing department within the Faculty of International Relations at L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University. It offers instruction in five languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The department focuses on teaching foundational, core, and elective courses for various specializations within the faculty and beyond. Utilizing innovative educational technologies, the department integrates blended learning, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and digital visualization in its teaching methods. This approach has enabled a smooth transition to distance learning, with lecturers effectively using platforms like Platonus, ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, Quizlet, and Google Classroom to ensure continuous education. Students not only acquire language proficiency but also gain insights into the cultural traditions and customs of the countries associated with their chosen language. The department is committed to regularly updating its academic modules to align with current international trends in foreign language education.
