The Erasmus Full-time PhD Programme in Management and Economics is a fully-funded program designed to develop and nurture academic talent from around the world. Entry requirements
Master's degree (MSc, MA, or MPhil)In business, economics, or a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, engineering, mathematics), relevant to the PhD project. A strong academic record with excellent results is required.

IELTSOverall band score of 7.5, with no section score below 6.5.
GMAT or GRE scores are strongly recommended (85th percentile or higher is ideal). Applicants without these scores may still apply if they can demonstrate equivalent academic and research excellence. For GMAT taken in 2026, a minimum total score of 650 is required. Language test exemptions may apply under specific conditions (e.g., Dutch Bachelor/Master, VWO diploma with English grade 7.0+, International Baccalaureate, native English speaker from specific countries with secondary education in English, or higher education diploma obtained in English in specific countries). Applicants already holding or pursuing a PhD elsewhere are generally not admitted, unless an exception is granted for a significantly different scientific discipline.
