The program spans two academic years, with a curriculum designed to cover fundamental areas of design, technology, ethics, and user behavior. Students will engage with topics such as design processes, prototyping, human-centered design, interactive simulations, visualization, interactive art, and game development.
Graduates are prepared for roles as interaction designers (or UX designers) in any industry that develops digital applications, systems, or machines. This includes software companies, the game industry, and manufacturers of hardware and software products like cars and smartphones.
General entry requirements for higher education in Sweden apply, in addition to specific programme requirements. Applicants must also meet the English language proficiency requirement.
Tuition fees must be paid before applying for a residence permit. Payment is handled via Chalmers' Pay Portal. Citizens of Belarus, Iran, and Russia may be subject to international sanctions restrictions on monetary transactions.
Tuition fees apply to non-EU/EEA citizens and are charged in SEK. EU/EEA citizens, Swiss citizens, and those with Swedish residency permits for reasons other than study do not pay tuition fees.
The Master of Science program spans two academic years and is studied full-time at 100% study rate.
