Interior Architecture BA(Hons)

This BA(Hons) degree focuses on uncovering the potential of interior spaces, balancing architectural theory with practical design and making skills. You will learn to create innovative, future-proof interiors that are mindful of their context, community, and sustainability. The course emphasizes the ethical reuse of existing buildings, technical design resolution, and understanding spatial rehabilitation. You will experiment with creative approaches, explore material construction, consider environmental and social factors in design, and develop skills in drawing, modeling, simulation, and communication of design proposals. Collaboration on industry-led projects and the use of cutting-edge software like VR are integral to the learning experience. An optional professional placement year is available to enhance industry experience.

Curriculum

The degree can be completed in three years or four years with an optional professional placement. The curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of interior architecture and adaptive reuse, exploring the relationship between people and space, materiality, and how design impacts indoor environments. You will also develop professional practice and collaborative skills.
