Interior Architecture BA (Hons)

This BA (Hons) Interior Architecture course, part of the School of Architecture, merges creative design with critical thinking. It focuses on designing spaces from the user's perspective, considering how people experience and move through them. The program encourages exploration of real-world issues through live projects with local clients and the development of unique 'furnitecture' designs, which bridge the gap between furniture and architecture. Curriculum

The three-year full-time course is centered on the design studio, with approximately 15 hours of contact time per week and an anticipated annual workload of 1,200 hours. Teaching typically occurs Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. The curriculum covers the design process, idea investigation, design representation, and the relationship between the studio and professional practice, emphasizing learning from peers in an open studio culture. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, group and individual presentations, and a final-year dissertation.
